Description
This is a new technique for me--I've never really created a picture like this. I didn't even know what category it was supposed to be. Vexel Art? Vector? Photomanipulation? If anyone has an idea, let me know please :]
Originally I was hoping to portray a sort of inner conflict between nature and machine... I wanted to have the face be made of interlocked gears, and the hair to be plants and vines (Sort of a representation of my own life and art--I wish I could be a traditional artist, but I feel completely confined by technology. I don't know how to do anything without a computer). Being my first attempt at this sort of art, however, I decided to take it a bit simpler.
Ultimately, what this means is that, if anything, this is simply a conceptual piece for me. Perhaps a taste of what is to come? Anyone who follows my art knows that 80% of my digital art was the same, simple style and I'm excited to move on to something new.
Hmm... perhaps that's what my title should be. Because (for me), rather than a portrayal of the juxtaposition of the natural world and our man-made one (and the inner conflict resulting thereof), this image became simply a personal challenge of what I, as an artist, am currently capable of.
But of course, there are still +100 Internets waiting (yes, big prize this time), to anyone who can help me come up with another title!
Oh, and for the record, CatalystSirene [link] suggested the name "Gearcock". So I'm up for pretty much anything. Give me your best shot

P.S. I still strongly feel as if this is a work in progress. The original file I uploaded is even entitled "October 25th Edit". Therefore, as always, critiques are ESPECIALLY welcomed. And perhaps we will see some new versions in the future :]
